Can I buy a lion on my company card
Â
Yep, of course you can if you're Zlatan, or if you're a Zoo, lion breeder or have a business that in some way feeds on lions.
Â
Yes, you can basically buy anything in the company, but it has to be related to your business and obviously contribute something to your business. You should simply be able to do business on it. So buy in.
Â
Examples of things that occur more often than lions are the purchase of:
- Boat
- Holiday home
- Recreational animals, like horses
- Stuff that might be fun to have, like a giant TV that is a "computer screen" or an expensive damn camera etc.
In the case of boats and holiday homes, the Tax Agency looks at something called the degree of use, i.e. they find out how much of the year you have rented out the boat or house and then they require you to pay preferential tax for the rest of the year. This is because the Tax Agency considers that you have had the opportunity to use the boat or house for private purposes. You can avoid paying income tax if you can prove that you did not have that opportunity, the boat may have been stored or similar.
Â
Most things you buy that are not considered (even if you claim them) to be part of your business will be backed up by the tax authorities, through tax surcharges and/or penalties. If you want to be sure you are doing the right thing, contact us, it can save you a lot of money, unnecessary worry and give you very good input on what is the best solution for you and your business.
