Annual chronicle - Saldo 2019

2019 wicked year, and also the last 10 in the 20's, hmm.....
Must first taste 2020, that year when everything was Star Trek growing up and now you're here, but no Star Trek, right?
Well, no direct spaceships hovering over you and taking you to all sorts of weird planets, but we've come a long way anyway, at least to the clouds,everyone's talking about the cloud. Well a little way down the road, next is the stratosphere, ok we'll take another year for that.
Now is now, but everyone is still talking about Star Trek and the future, but we skip that and think now and here, we are in Star Trek land and we love it.

Saldo was voted "Future Agency of the Year" in all of damn Sweden in 2017, that wasn't that long ago, but how long are we the Future Agency of the Year? One year, two, or as long as you want? We've chosen the latter, it's all about how you manage your everyday life and how you move your positions forward. We choose to constantly move ourselves forward. Today we are 100% digital, but that's not enough we have to become 100% automated. Why do we have to? Basically because we shouldn't bother with accounting, as we instead look to do stronger benefit for our clientsthan just debit and credit. Of course we make sure that all the numbers are correct and easy to read and timely, but automation should do that. We help our clientsto develop, and take care of our clientsso that they feel good about being a customer of Saldo, and become better business owners with us, whether each business owner wants more free time, more money or more fun work, then we are there to make sure they get there.
That's what we call "Future Agency of the Year", we give ourselves that award every year. Because we are worth it.

Little things of joy we love, calls from our clientswho are genuinely happy and grateful that Saldo exists for them. But also from a call we received last fall from our former employee. He along with his wife and three children moved to Spain in early 2019 after working with us for three years, it was sad to lose him. Then came the call:
- Hi it's your old co-worker from Spain, I want to come back to Saldo again, as I enjoyed working with you so much. Jojo the whole family was moving back home and our fantastic former employee needed a job, but the fact was he could want any agency, but he wanted to come back to Saldo. May sound silly but it's the kind of thing we appreciate immensely. Whether it's staff or clients, the willingness to hang with us is when people enjoy and appreciate our presence. More than that is not needed and we want to strengthen that feeling in 2020.

A lot has happened during the year, we have after 20 years left Vasastan and lovely quiet Upplandsgatan to move the whole office to a three times bigger place, an old bank building, on the South that is burning with activity 24/7. Cool place with a strong dynamic, and we love it. The space is adapted to better suit our business as a gigantic meeting place in several different environments, all with a strong industrial feel, a lot of heart for that place and space.
We have also changed our equipment to be a common mobile structure which then besides being smarter in terms of work but also a strong contributor to the environment as our electricity consumption has plummeted drastically. Good job as well.
We have increased our workforce by 50%, passing now over twenty employees, and what incredible employees we have got. A wonderful energy that fills our new premises in an incredibly bubbly and evolving way. We're taking that energy into the 20 hundreds.

We talk about sustainability, it is one of several attitudes that we work and passionate about, others such as: sustainability, diversity, equality are important things for us, but at the same time bring joy and a strong community. And precisely community is our 2020, as we will press a word that is also our work environment, culture and approach, the word is "together". That is what will move mountains, yes, move mountains and create development and a cruelly strong dynamic. Together, don't forget it.

And all the various important efforts that are made, we want to highlight and this by actually sponsoring some of these activities that make a difference out there, they are:
Rise - the association that supports the sexually vulnerable in their upbringing, we need more love for each other, incredibly important.
Teskedsordern - helps especially school children to de-dramatise and understand different cultures, this is where diversity comes in. We need this enormously in today's and tomorrow's Sweden and world.
Ensembleverket - A strong theatre group that contributes to a multicultural world, which is so necessary.
BP football - Brommapojkarna or rather Brommatjejerna årskull 2007, movement, activity, joy and doing things together is important to us. To also give girls a place and to see girls take a place makes it even more worthwhile.
Gais - 2020 we are the main sponsor of Sweden's most beloved and mythical football team. Everyone is a Gaiser at heart.

Where will all this lead to?

• Getting more employees is that the thing?
• Bigger turnover is that thing?
• More clients Is that the thing?
• Creating change is that thing?
• Become the most disruptive and most amazing agency in Sweden, is that the thing?

 
Yes, it probably is, but that's not where the focus is. The focus is on who we are, what we want and how we want to develop, and mainly, we only do it if we have fun on that path, otherwise it can matter.
And the fact is, we do all this in as good a way as we want, all that above comes all by itself.
History has shown this in our minds, and we shall continue to show this in the future.
 
Now it's a new decade, we start there, and we continue with what we think is fun i.e. to work with all our clients and change and develop our industry and our wonderful clients .
